“Two Sessions” seminar invited the ambassador of the People’s Republic of China in Portugal, Zhao Bentang to deliver a keynote speech on the sessions of the National People’s Congress (NPC) and the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC).
Marking the 50th anniversary of China-EU diplomatic relations and the 20th anniversary of the China-Portugal comprehensive strategic partnership, Zhao noted that bilateral relations have reached an unprecedented high.
He reaffirmed the strong commitment of both nations to multilateralism, mutual respect, and shared benefits. He encouraged Chinese enterprises in Portugal to further develop investment cooperation, enhance personnel exchanges, and expand pragmatic collaboration in various sectors to deepen China-Portugal ties.
The seminar was chaired by Guo Zhiyao, President of the Association of Chinese companies in Portugal. Other attendees included Li Yong, Economic and Commercial Counselor at the Chinese Embassy in Portugal, Xu Dan, Secretary-General of the association, and Lao Chao Peng, Head of the association’s Macau Work Committee.
Senior representatives from major Chinese enterprises operating in Portugal were participated includes the Bank of China, China State Construction, Huawei, Fosun Group, State Grid Corporation of China, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, Haitong Bank, China Communications Construction, Quinta da Marmeleira, and Perfeição Company.
