These four countries will receive, “from June and for four months”, the smartphone application where “users of electric vehicles (EVs) will be able to do their electric charging using just one app”, explains the company in a statement, adding that the “success of the launch of the Borderless campaign could determine the company’s permanence in these markets from October this year”.
Entitled Borderless, miio’s campaign covers more than 247,000 new electric charging stations in the four countries and marks the company’s “commitment to providing a borderless electric mobility experience”, thus promoting “sustainability and convenience” for users travelling during their summer holidays.
The initiative comes at a time when “more and more Portuguese are choosing to travel abroad with their electric cars”, reflecting the growing confidence in “electric mobility and the robustness” of the charging network, the statement also reads.
The CEO and co-founder of miio, Daniela Simões, said that the company’s mission is to create a “more sustainable and simpler future”.
She continues: “That’s why we decided to expand our horizons by enabling our users to travel during the summer with just one charging solution.”
Miio’s internationalization began in 2022 with its entry into Spain and France.
With the end of the Borderless campaign in October, the company will use the various metrics analysed to decide the next steps in internationalisation for these new European markets.
