US says there is ‘no change’ in its support for Israel after Rafah attack

The United States said, on Tuesday (28), that there is "no change" in its support for Israel after the attack on the city of Rafah, in the south of the Gaza Strip, which caused a fire and left 45 dead in a camp of displaced people

John Kirby, a spokesman for the National Security Council, said there was “no policy change to speak of” and that the incident “just happened.”

Kirby added that US President Joe Biden is not turning a blind eye to the Rafah victims, but has no plans yet to change policy following the weekend’s deadly Israeli attack.
