Luis Díaz and his father’s kidnapping: “I, my mother and my brothers are desperate….”

Colombian footballer Luis Díaz asks the ELN guerrillas to release his father

Colombian footballer Luis Díaz asked the National Liberation Army (ELN) guerrillas to free his father, kidnapped since October 28, and appealed for help from international organizations in the process.

“I ask the ELN for the immediate release of my father, Luis Manuel Díaz, and I ask for help from international organizations,” wrote the former FC Porto player in a statement released on social media.

The ELN leader admitted this weekend that his Northern War Front kidnapped the Colombian international’s father eight days ago, in the town of Barrancas, where he lived with his family.

However, the ELN guerrilla leader considered, on the same occasion, that it was a “mistake” to have kidnapped Luis Manuel Díaz to obtain ransom money, and promised to release him, something that has not yet happened.
