The 31st Macao International Fireworks Display Contest (MIFDC) will begin this Monday (11th) featuring two shows by international pyrotechnic companies.

On the first day of MIFDC, Australian company Cardile International Fireworks will set the tone for the remaining days.

“Wonders of Australia”

Around 9:00pm, the show “Wonders of Australia” will begin, featuring beautiful images of flowers, wildlife, and natural landscapes. The visual spectacle will be accompanied by a musical performance inspired by the best of Australia: pop, rock, and Aboriginal music.

It’s a show not to be missed from a company that, one could say, has centuries of history! Founded in 1809, it has evolved over five generations. In 2010, it won first place in the “Yueyang Tower Cup” Pyro-Musical Competition (Hunan, China) and has participated in various displays in Australia and abroad.

“Rock Icons”

Next, around 9:40pm, you can watch the second pyrotechnic show titled “Rock Icons.” This time it will be presented by the Swiss team, La Pirotecnica SAL. Drawing inspiration from various iconic rock songs, they will showcase strong colors and meticulous creative designs.

This company, founded in 1934, has won several awards, including in Portugal, where it once claimed first place at the Madeira Atlantic Festival. In 2018, it took second place in the International Fireworks Festival Championship (Kaliningrad, Russia) and produced several large-scale pyrotechnic displays.

Where can you watch the shows?

There are plenty of options! But there are five locations that promise an exciting night, including Anim’Arte NAM VAN, the area from Kun Iam Ecumenical Centre to Leisure Area of Kun Iam Statue Waterfront on Avenida Dr. Sun Yat-Sen, Avenida de Sagres (next to Mandarin Oriental, Macau), the waterfront at Macao Science Center and Avenida do Oceano in Taipa.

Radio and Television Broadcast

The Chinese channel of Radio Macau (FM100.7) will broadcast the background music accompanying the fireworks displays in real-time at 9:00 PM and 9:40 PM each night to enhance the viewing experience at different locations. TDM OU MUN and TDM Entertainment channels will also provide live coverage of the event.
