Average residential rent in Macau with small decrease

Macau’s rental market witnessed a modest shift in the second quarter of 2023, as average residential rents per square meter of usable area dipped by 0.8 per cent, according to data released by the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC).

The average rent settled at MOP129 (US$16), reflecting a slight decline from the previous quarter.

Among the districts boasting a significant number of lease declarations, the Barra and Manduco district and the Areia Preta and Iao Hon area experienced a notable drop of 1.6 per cent in average residential rent, with prices dropping to MOP126 and MOP123, respectively.

On the other hand, the NAPE and Aterros da Baía da Praia Grande area, and the NATAP district showcased resilience, with average residential rents rising by 0.8 per cent and 0.7 per cent, respectively, reaching MOP129 and MOP146.
