Former Dutch international Edwin van der Sar, who suffered a brain haemorrhage two weeks ago while on holiday in Croatia, has been released from intensive care and is expected to return home next week.
The information was given by himself, with the former goalkeeper of Ajax and Manchester United publishing a photograph still lying in the hospital bed, smiling and next to his wife, Annemarie.
“I am no longer in intensive care. I’m still in the hospital, but I hope to be home next week and take the next step in my recovery.”
