The head of the Wagner group, Yevgeny Prigozhin, is in Russia and not in Belarus, said, this Thursday, Aleksandr Lukashenko.
“He is in St. Petersburg, not in Belarus,” Lukashenko said in remarks to journalists at a press conference.
The Belarusian President also said that the mercenaries remained in the fields where they had been before the mutiny against Moscow.
Alexander Lukashenko helped negotiate a deal that allowed Prigozhin to end the mutiny on 24 June. The agreement also allowed Prigozhin and contracted fighters to travel to Belarus.
