US and Canadian authorities are focusing their attention on investigations into what led to the “catastrophic implosion” of the submersible Titan, which killed the five people on board.
The investigation is now at an early stage and it is not known when it could end, and, according to the AFP news agency, it could last between 18 months and two years.
CNN International says that the researchers’ priority is, at this moment, to recover the wreckage of the Titan. To do so, they work with a robot that is searching the bottom of the sea in search of the remains of the submersible.
This robot is the same remotely operated vehicle that found the first Titan wreckage last week. According to the company Pelagic Research Services, the capabilities of the Odysseus 6K “were and continue to be used” in the Titan recovery mission.
