Organized by the Associação Lusófona de Arbitragem e Mediação (ALAM), and with the collaboration of the Macau Academy of Alternative Dispute Resolution of the University of São José and CIETAK Hong Kong, the seminar was moderated by José Miguel Júdice and had as speakers the arbitrators João Dono (Angola), Christian Valenzuela (Brazil), Carla Monteiro (Cape Verde), José de Freitas (Portugal), Eduardo Buisson Loureiro (Macau) and Dimétrio Manjate (Mozambique)

With this seminar, ALAM intended to reinforce knowledge of the Portuguese reality in the field of Arbitration and Mediation by lawyers, arbitrators and jurists from Macau, mainland China and Portuguese-speaking countries. This participation and interest confirm Macao’s comparative advantages in terms of knowledge of the legal systems of China and Portuguese-speaking countries, including its promotion as one of the places of arbitration for the resolution of any disputes arising from trade between entrepreneurs from Portuguese-speaking countries.
