“I’m going to start something that I call ‘TruthGPT’, or say, an AI that seeks the maximum truth and tries to understand the nature of the universe”, Musk said in an interview with a Fox News program, which will go on at this second fair. .
“I wish that this could be the best path to safety, not the sense that an AI that cares about understanding the universe is unlikely to annihilate human beings, because we are an interesting part of the universe,” he said, according to some sections of the interview.
Musk did not immediately respond to Reuters’ request for comment.
The billionaire has hired AI researchers from Alphabet-owned Google to launch a competing OpenAI startup, sources familiar with the matter told Reuters.
