Capable of analyzing and writing texts of up to 25,000 words, maintaining more consistent dialogues with human beings and even passing the exam for the North American Bar Association, being “among the top 10%”. These are some of the skills of the new version of the ChatGPT artificial intelligence system, version 4, presented on Tuesday and released to the public this Wednesday, under subscription.
In addition to analysis capabilities and text generation based on assumptions introduced by users, GPT-4 is also capable of “reading and writing” any existing computer programming language.
“GPT-4 is less capable than humans in many real-life scenarios, but as good as them in many professional and academic contexts,” describes OpenAI, the technology creator of the system, in a statement cited by AFP. And he gives an example: “He passed the exam to become a lawyer with a score as good as the top 10%. The previous version, GPT 3.5, was in the bottom 10%”.
