The Spanish Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez, confirmed this Thursday in Kiev, before the Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelensky, that Spain will send six Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine and can increase aid to ten units.
“We are going to send six Leopard 2 A4 tanks,” said Sánchez, quoted by the Spanish agency EFE.
Sánchez said that his government’s intention is “to increase the number of tanks that Spain will deliver to Ukraine from six to 10 in the coming weeks and months”.
As well as confirming the shipment of tanks, which was announced on Wednesday by Defense Minister Margarita Robles, Sánchez also recalled that Spain will train Ukrainian soldiers in the operation of these war vehicles.
