Russian Deputy Prime Minister Marat Jusnullin confirmed this Thursday the full reopening of the Kerch bridge, the infrastructure that connects the Crimean peninsula to mainland Russia and which was the target of an explosion in early October 2022.
“The Crimean bridge is fully open to traffic in all lanes, 39 days ahead of schedule,” Jusnullin said in press statements, quoted by Russian news agency TASS.
Jusnullin took the opportunity to value all the infrastructure repair works, partially reopened to traffic at the beginning of last December, so road connections between Crimea and mainland Russia “practically did not stop”.
According to the Russian Deputy Prime Minister, the reconstruction works on the Kerch Bridge involved more than 500 employees, more than 50 machines and two floating cranes.
