Julia Faustyna wasn’t the only one to feed Maddie’s dream

The mystery surrounding the British couple McCann forces us to go back in time to May 2007, the year in which Kate and Gerry McCann spent their holidays at the Ocean Club resort, in Praia da Luz, in the Algarve. At that time, Madeleine was about to turn four years old and on the night of May 3rd, the blonde girl with the blue eyes disappeared. The bomb fell in Portugal and the United Kingdom and efforts were quickly made to find the child.

As they fought against the clock, the Judiciary Police (PJ) put all the hypotheses on the table, the one that prevailed for the longest time was that of Gonçalo Amaral, a former PJ inspector in Portimão, who led the initial investigations of the case. Gonçalo Amaral believes that Kate and Jerry McCann are the main suspects in Maddie’s disappearance and points to an accidental death, simulated kidnapping and hiding a corpse.

The Portuguese and British investigations turned up a handful of nothing and, despite the long list of suspects, no one was ever arrested, charged or convicted and many leads remained to be followed. The truth never saw the light of day and uncertainties continue to demand that some doors from the past be opened. But almost never the answers led to results and until today nothing is known about the whereabouts of Madeleine McCann.
