Three more infections confirmed in individuals under medical observation

TDM Rádio Macau

According to the epidemiological investigation, the first positive case is a 64-year-old male Macau resident, retired, who was having breakfast at Tong Kei Food Establishment (Estrada do Repouso). The man is found to have the same itinerary as the positive case of a taxi driver that was reported on November 28, so he is considered a non-nuclear close contact case. This patient was placed under medical observation on the evening of November 28 and the results of the nucleic acid tests carried out on November 28, 29 and 30 were negative. On Wednesday, he was discharged from the medical observation hotel and took a taxi to his residence and stayed at home. His residence (Tim Yee Building at Central Sidewalk of St Lazarus Church), was delimited on the same day as a Code Red Zone due to the occurrence of the diagnosed case. The individual had remained at his home (Code Red Zone) throughout the time. On December 1, the result of the nucleic acid test was positive and he was considered a patient detected under control. The patient manifested symptoms of cough and fatigue on November 29 and was classified as a confirmed case related to the imported case.

The second positive case is a 64-year-old male resident of Macau, who drives a black taxi (License Plate M-36-11) and his 62-year-old wife is a part-time employee of Tong Kei Food Stores (Estrada do Repouso). The taxi driver was found to be a close contact case and has been under medical observation since the morning of November 30. The result of the nucleic acid test carried out on November 30 was negative, but the result of the test carried out on December 1 was positive. The individual did not show symptoms of indisposition, so he is considered as a case of asymptomatic infection related to the imported case.

The third positive case was a retired 80-year-old male resident of Macau who lives in the Vang Son Building, which was delimited as a Red Zone Code on the afternoon of November 30. The result of the nucleic acid test conducted on November 30 was negative, however, the result of the test on December 1 was positive, and he was classified as a control case. The individual did not show symptoms of indisposition and was considered as a case of asymptomatic infection related to the imported case.

The Contingency Coordination Centre said that the three individuals mentioned above have already undergone treatment in isolation at designated sites.
