Grand Prix: 57 Macau drivers and 19 outsiders confirmed

In addition to Edoardo Mortara, announced by Audi Sport Asia last week, the Macau GT Cup will feature two more world-class European drivers, both former FIA GT World Cup winners on the streets of Macau – German Maro Engel and Italian Raffaele Marciello

With sixteen cars entered, including Darryl O’Young, winner of the race last year, and Alexandre Imperatori, the Swiss chosen by Porsche to defend their colors in the race, it is expected that the media projection of the two Mercedes drivers -AMG and Audi’s Italian-Swiss rival put this race back on the international agenda.

Also worthy of note is the return of Rob Huff, a rider who won nine times in the Guia Race, and who opted to participate in the Macau Grand Prix with the official MG team, where he will have Portuguese Rodolfo Ávila as his teammate, in instead of completing the season of the FIA World Touring Car Cup – WTCR, in which it occupied third place in the drivers’ standings. Interestingly, the Englishman will not be fighting for a tenth victory in the Guia Race, as competitors from the TCR Asia Championship and the China Touring Car Championship (CTCC) have been placed in the Macau Touring Car Cup.
