The new owner of Twitter, Elon Musk, announced yesterday the launch of a subscription of eight dollars (eight euros) per month for users to certify their account and be less exposed to advertising.
The announcement by the American billionaire, also owner of Tesla and SpaceX, was made on Twitter, explaining that, in the future, this price will be adjusted by country, in proportion to the purchasing power.
Since last year, Twitter has been offering the opportunity to subscribe to various paid features, but the new owner of the platform wants a “new, more expensive and widely adopted offer” that generates “more revenue”.
The version, called “Blue Twitter”, until now available in few countries and without great success, will have the advantages of priority in answers, mentions and searches, tools to fight ‘spam’, facility to publish long videos and audios and half the publicity.
