China hopes that its relations with the United Kingdom will progress when Rishi Sunak is appointed prime minister, the country’s foreign ministry said today.
“China’s position in Sino-British relations has always been unequivocal. The development and protection of relations depends on the two countries,” Chinese diplomacy spokesman Wang Wenbin said at a press conference. Wang said he was hopeful that bilateral relations between London and Beijing would “progress on the right path” based on “mutual respect and benefit”.
