The 54th Macau Motorcycle Grand Prix, in addition to marking the return of foreign riders to the Macau Grand Prix, will also have another point of interest, as it will be the first time that this race created in 1967 will have a female participation.
The Dutch Nadieh Schoots accepted the invitation of the Organizing Committee of the Macau Grand Prix and will make her debut in a race in which she was very close to participating four years ago, when an injury months before the race forced her to give up her trip to the Asian continent. Although she is still raising money for her participation through a crowdfunding campaign, the 31-year-old is excited about her first participation in the race.
“I have dreamed of racing in the Macau Grand Prix since I met Dutch rider Branko Srdanov in 2012, when we both competed at IDM. In fact, at the time I didn’t believe it was something I could or would ever do, but I thought it was the coolest show I’d ever seen. However, a decade and a lot of blood, sweat and tears later, here we are.”
