On the 5th of September, the new leader of the Conservative Party, and future Prime Minister of the British Government, is elected. After five rounds of voting among party members, there are only two candidates left. The Tories will decide who to send to 10 Downing Street: the current Foreign Secretary, Liz Truss, or the former Finance Minister, Rishi Sunak.
Given the energy crisis and the consequent rise in the cost of living, it is not surprising that the economic recovery is the main topic of debate. This is where candidates differ the most. Where do the two “thatcherites” with ties to Boris Johnson stand apart?
