Ten Republicans voted to remove Trump. only two resist
Congresswoman Liz Cheney lost the Wyoming primaries and will not be re-elected to a new term. She is the last of the 10 members of the House of Representatives who voted in favor of the second impeachment of then-President Donald Trump to know his fate. Only two of them will have the opportunity to go to the polls in November. Four chose not to advance to a candidacy, while another four ended up being defeated in the primaries by candidates supported by Trump – which thus shows the power he still has in the Republican Party.
“I said I’m going to do whatever it takes to make sure Donald Trump is never anywhere near the Oval Office again, and I mean it,” Cheney said in his speech after his primary defeat, where he was no more than 29%.
Lawyer Harriet Hageman, who has virtually no political experience but believes there was “fraud” in the 2020 election and had Trump’s support, won with 66%.
