Russian President Vladimir Putin said this Monday that Russian forces and militias from the self-proclaimed republics of Donetsk and Lugansk liberate Donbass “step by step” and that he is proud of their work.
“Today, in the course of the special military operation [as the Kremlin calls the invasion of Ukraine’s territory], our soldiers, together with the Donbass fighters, are doing their duty, fighting for Russia, for a peaceful life in the People’s Republics of Donetsk and Lugansk”, he said at the opening of the military forum and fair “Armia-2022”, on the outskirts of Moscow.
The Kremlin chief stressed that these forces “accomplish precisely all the tasks that have been set for them: step by step, they liberate the Donbass”.
