The New Type of Coronavirus Contingency Coordination Center announced yesterday an imported case circulating through the community, and proceeded to close the Mayfair Court Building, on Rua de Francisco António, near Porto Interior. The revelation was made around 10:30 am and implies a crew member of a freighter from Hong Kong and Macau.
“On the 10th of July (Wednesday), a 73-year-old Macau resident, a freighter crew member from Hong Kong and Macau, who worked between the 7th and 9th of August, was detected as a positive case in the acid test. nucleic,” was revealed.
“Nucleic acid tests performed between the 4th and 8th of August gave negative results; the test was also carried out on the night of August 9, and in the early morning of August 10, the result was confirmed as positive, hence it was preliminarily considered an imported case of infection”, he added.
After the case was detected, the authorities proceeded to isolate the building. Also according to the authorities, “the cohabitants of this patient and his colleagues on the same ship were sent for nucleic acid testing” and were “subject to medical observation in quarantine”.
