The inflation rate rose 0.4 percentage points in relation to June.
The Consumer Price Index (CPI) was 9.1% in July, up 0.4 percentage points on the previous month and the highest since November 1992, the INE (National Statistics Institute) confirmed Wednesday.

“The year-on-year change in the CPI was 9.1% in July 2022, a rate 0.4 p.p. [percentage points] higher than in the previous month and the highest since November 1992,” the National Statistics Institute (INE) said, thus confirming the figures it had put forward in the flash estimate released on July 29.

The underlying inflation indicator (total index excluding unprocessed food and energy) also accelerated, registering a change of 6.2% (6% in June).
