Three weeks and one day after returning to Manchester United’s pre-season work, Cristiano Ronaldo returned to the club. The Portuguese forward, who was released citing family reasons, showed up yesterday morning at the Carrington training center, where he got behind the wheel of his Bentley. In the car were also businessman Jorge Mendes and manager Ricardo Regufe.
As it turned out, Ronaldo trained with his teammates. According to the newspaper Marca, he was very well received, he exchanged impressions about the club’s tour of Thailand and Australia (which Ronaldo missed) and at one point he even said in the dressing room: “OK, that’s enough. Let’s practice.”
This return, however, does not mean that CR7 has changed his mind and wants to remain at the club. In fact, the presence of agent Jorge Mendes on site is proof that Ronaldo maintains the idea of pursuing his career at another club. But as he still has a year on his contract to fulfill, any intention to leave will have to have the OK of Manchester United officials. That’s what started to be treated yesterday.
