Casa de Portugal in Macau misses rent payments due to pandemic

The paralysis of Macau, dictated by the partial confinement and at the behest of the consolidation period still in force, led Casa de Portugal to miss the payment of the June and July rents of the activity workshops. This, because the expected transfer of funds from the Macau Foundation for this purpose, did not happen due to the outbreak.

Speaking to TDM-Radio Macau, the president of the Casa de Portugal, Amelia António explained that, given the financial weakness of the association, the priority now is to pay salaries with the remaining funds.

Amélia António now hopes that, soon, the situation normalizes, thus allowing the Macau Foundation to transfer the last tranche of the 2021 subsidy and the first of 2022.
