Apple and Google are the most valuable brands in the world

Tech giants Apple and Google were crowned the world’s most valuable brands, dethroning e-commerce multinational Amazon, according to an annual study of the world’s 100 largest companies by Kantar.

In the 17th edition of the list published annually by the consulting firm, Apple’s value rose 55% over the previous year, reaching 947.06 billion dollars (908.46 billion euros), which allows it to rise a position and occupy the first place.

Google also improved one spot from last year’s ranking, after increasing its brand value by 79% to $819.57 billion (€786.04 billion).

Amazon, which in the last edition was the most valuable company in the world, dropped two spots on the list, despite its value having increased 3%, to 705.65 billion dollars (676.98 billion euros).

The top ten positions in the index are completed by the US companies Microsoft (4), McDonald’s (6), Visa (7) and Facebook (8), the Chinese companies Tencent (5) and Alibaba (9), and the French company luxury products Louis Vuitton (10), the first European company in the ‘ranking’.
