Covid-19: Quarantine in Macau goes to 21 days; Exceptionality to save China and Taiwan

Since 10 pm yesterday, the mandatory quarantine has increased from 14 to 21 days.

The announcement was made at a press conference, an hour before it went into effect.

The measure was justified with the new transmissions of Covid-19 in the world detected after 14 days of medical observation; and also with a new strain detected in the UK and which, according to preliminary data, can be up to 70% more contagious.

The new measure applies to those arriving from all over the world, to the fundamental of Taiwan, keeping the 14-day quarantine unchanged for those coming from Taiwan.
