Sister Juliana Devoy, who headed the Good Shepherd Center in Macau for about 30 years has passed away this morning at 83, TDM Radio reported.
The missionary was known for her considerable work and public defence on women’s rights and in aid of domestic violence victims.
Born in Nebraska, US, in 1937 Ms. Devoy joined the Good Shepherd Sisters in Los Angeles when she was 17 after just seeing a brochure that had been passed around in school. She later took her final vows after spending a year in the order’s Motherhouse in Angers, France.
