Brazilian government announces launch of submarine cable between Brazil and Europe.
The Minister of Communications, Fábio Faria, announced today (10) the launch of a submarine fiber-optic cable that will connect Fortaleza (CE) to Sines, in Portugal, with expansion planned for points in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, in addition to connections in Africa and other European countries, Atlantic islands and French Guiana. The project is estimated to be completed by mid-2021.
“On Monday (14), we will launch a submarine fiber optic cable that will leave Fortaleza to Sines, in Portugal. There will be more than 6 thousand kilometers. We estimate that by the second quarter of next year it will be ready ”, said the minister.
