Pandemic will not impact cod consumption. On Christmas Eve, about 30% of the annual total is consumed.
The Portuguese will eat between four and five thousand tons of cod in this consonant, about 30% of the total consumption, a number that should not be impacted by the pandemic, the Norwegian Council for Seafood Products told Lusa.
“The consumption of Norwegian cod in the Christmas season represents about 30% of the annual total, it is estimated that on the night of consume between four and five thousand tons of cod in Portugal”, pointed out, in response to Lusa, the director to Portugal from the Norwegian Council for Seafood Products (NSC), Johnny Thomassen.
As for the origin, 70% of all cod consumed in Portugal comes from Norway.
