The World Health Organization (WHO) celebrated this Monday, the 30th, the first fall of new infections by the new coronavirus in Europe, since September. However, WHO warned that “any progress can be quickly lost”.
At a press conference at WHO headquarters in Genebra, General-Director Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus recalled that last week there was a reduction in new cases, especially in the European continent, “due to the effectiveness of the tough but necessary measures” to restrict the freedom of movement for populations.
Tedros Adhanom recommends “extreme caution” when analyzing these results, noting that in other regions of the world this decline has not been verified.
