Russian communications regulator Roskomnadzor on Saturday proposed the creation of national video platforms to replace YouTube, due to the alleged “censorship” of the American service to Russian media.
“We draw the attention of the Russian media to the need to maintain information channels on national video platforms. We ask the main technology companies to help our media to create and popularize them, ”the Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology and the Mass Media of Russia announced this Saturday (in a statement) ( Roskomnadzor), quoted by the EFE news agency.
This proposal was made after the Russian communications regulator accused Google of imposing on YouTube “a total veto” on the creation of channels by the news agency ANNA News.
