British diplomat saves woman from drowning in China

The Chinese government on Tuesday praised a British diplomat who was filmed diving into a river in southern China to save a drowning student

The good deed comes at a time when the People’s Republic of China and the United Kingdom have been in conflict over human rights issues in Hong Kong and Xinjiang.

The British mission in the southwestern city of Chongqing on Monday revealed that Consul General Stephen Ellison saved a woman from drowning over the weekend in a nearby tourist town.
