Christ the Redeemer, declared in 2007, after a popular internet vote, as one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World, will be restored for the 90th anniversary celebrations, which will be celebrated on October 12, 2021.
Today (27), a ceremony at the monument marked the beginning of the Cristo 90 Years Restoration Project, created based on studies, surveys and research carried out by the company Cone Sul since 2016 to carry out preventive conservation work and damage treatment in the monument. The intention is to avoid the loss of materiality and the original form of the sculpture, in addition to preventing the risk of accidents.
