Angola is on the “edge of the Emergency State”
The Minister of State and head of the Civil House of the President of the Republic of Angola warned that the country is “on the threshold of a state of emergency” and called for compliance with measures to combat covid-19
Adão de Almeida spoke yesterday at a press conference in Luanda, during which he presented the new rules on the calamity situation, which were changed 15 days after the last decree came into force, due to the increase in the number of cases of covid-19. “We are on the edge of an Emergency State. If we cannot stop the growth of the pandemic and the risk of a system collapse, there will be no alternative but to adopt more drastic and restrictive measures for citizens’ rights ”and as long as it is possible to counter the trend of the last few days, said Adão de Almeida.
