The President of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, anticipated on Thursday in two months, for the second consecutive year, the traditional celebrations of the Christmas season in the country, which this year began on October 15.
To signal the executive’s decision, Venezuelan state channels started a campaign, publicizing a poster in which President Nicolás Maduro appears accompanied by his wife, Cília Flores, in a Christmas atmosphere, which includes an image of the Virgin Mary with the baby Jesus in her arms.
“We boost food sovereignty”, it can be read on the poster, announcing that the “Constitutional President of Venezuela” was leading an “early Christmas” activity in 2020, on Thursday afternoon.
The start of Christmas celebrations in Venezuela comes after President Nicolás Maduro announces that he has approved “funds to acquire 10 million toys as part of the Happy Christmas plan”, which will reach Venezuelan children through food boxes at solidarity prices distributed by the State .
