The legitimacy of the mission depends on who is involved and how it will be conducted, observers say
The World Health Organization (WHO) is waiting for Beijing to approve the composition of an international team to be sent to China to investigate the origins of the new coronavirus pandemic.
WHO health emergency program executive director Mike Ryan revealed at a special meeting of the organization’s executive board that WHO had selected specialist candidates from around the world for the mission and that it was now up to Beijing to say who would be on the international team and when they would enter China.
