On Wednesday (7), Brazil surpassed the five million cases of Covid-19, registering 31,404 new infections in the last 24 hours, totaling 5,002,357 infected people. From 8 pm on Tuesday (6) to 8 pm on Wednesday, 733 new deaths were recorded, totaling 148,304.
The information is from the press consortium, an initiative resulting from an unprecedented collaboration between Folha, UOL, O Estado de S. Paulo, Extra, O Globo and G1 to gather and disclose the numbers related to the pandemic of the new coronavirus. The information is collected directly from the state Health Departments.
