China plans to raise partnership with Angola

Chinese President Xi Jinping said Friday in Beijing that China is willing to work with Angola to strengthen bilateral relations and raise the strategic partnership between the two countries to a higher level, the Embassy said yesterday. Angolan, in a note, citing the Chinese press.

According to the document, Xinhua, a Chinese news agency, says in an article published yesterday that the Chinese leader held a telephone conversation with President João Lourenço on Friday night, during which he assured that he will encourage the development of “more practical cooperation”, to encourage companies in their country to invest in Angola to boost economic and social development.

“Angola is an important partner of China in Africa and the economies of the two countries complement each other depending on the potential of each one”, said the Chinese Head of State, before recalling the existence of a brotherhood relationship based on sincerity, good – coffee and reciprocal advantages. He added that China is willing to support Angola in order to achieve development that is appropriate to its reality and internal conditions.

During the conversation, the Chinese President also assured that his country is ready to continue offering assistance to Angola in the best possible way, and that he will send to the country, in the near future, a group of medical specialists and epidemiologists to reinforce the combating the new coronavirus.

Xi Jinping said that China is willing to give priority to African countries in sharing their vaccines, after the ongoing research is completed and as soon as they are available to the public. The statesman emphasized that, with the Covid-19 pandemic, the Chinese and Angolan governments took decisive measures that helped to contain the epidemic effectively, based on the principle of putting human life first.
