China launches two weather satellites

China successfully launched two weather satellites for surveillance and environmental monitoring this Sunday from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center, located in northern Shanxi province.

A Long March-4B transporter (rocket) carried the HJ-2A and HJ-2B satellites into Earth orbit.

The launch took place at 11:23 am local time, the center said.
