Vietnamese police seize more than 320,000 used condoms

Filipe Sousa

Vietnamese authorities found a used condoms reselling business. The condoms were reconditioned and put back on the market without consumers even suspecting.

Wash, roll up and pack. This is how the used condoms sale scheme in Binh Duong province, Vietnam, worked. The police raided the warehouse where the business operated and seized dozens of packages, which weighed 360kg. In total, there were 320 thousand units in the warehouse.

A woman, who was identified as the owner of the warehouse, was arrested.

According to the BBC, condoms were collected and then washed. The next phase involved the use of a wooden dildo, which was used to roll them up. Finally, they were packaged for resale.

The detainee said she received $ 0.17 for each kilo of condoms.

It is not yet known how many of the “reconditioned” condoms have been sold again.
