The Eiffel Tower was evacuated and the entire neighborhood blocked after a bomb alert in Paris on Wednesday. At around 11.00, the police received an anonymous call saying that a bomb had been placed on the Eiffel Tower. “The monument was evacuated after noon, on-the-spot checks are taking place,” the company that operates the monument confirmed to Le Parisien.
As a precaution, the authorities created a security perimeter around the monument. On Twitter, Le Parisien journalist Amandine Pointel reports the news and shows images of the surroundings of the Eiffel Tower with the police device.
