The new coronavirus pandemic has killed more than 961,531 people worldwide since WHO declared the disease in China in late December, according to a balance sheet made today by AFP, from official sources.
More than 31,110,400 cases of infection have been officially diagnosed since the beginning of the pandemic, of which at least 21,082,500 are now considered cured.
This number of cases reflects only a part of the actual number of contagions. Some countries test only severe cases, others use testing as a priority for screening and many poor countries have limited screening capacity.
