Before Sunday’s final (20), Tadej Pogacar, 21, defined himself simply as a “young Slovenian who has two brothers and a sister”. He never imagined that he could win the Tour de France. Now, he has a great career ahead of him.
In the penultimate stage of the tournament, on Saturday (19), he was 57 seconds behind, but made an impressive time trial and defeated compatriot Primoz Roglic by 1min56.
He won the yellow jersey of champion and made history in cycling. He finished the 36.3 km time trial in 55min55, that is, with an average of 39.5 km/h.
