Portugal’s prime minister, António Costa, on Friday said that the country is following the European trend of increasing infections with the new coronavirus. If this continues, it could reach one thousand daily cases next week.
This position was conveyed by Costa at the end of the crisis cabinet meeting on the evolution of Covid-19 in Portugal, in Lisbon, which lasted about two hours.
“If this trend continues, we will reach a thousand cases a day. We have to stop this trend. We can’t stop the country,” Costa said at the press conference.
