Japanese tennis player Naomi Osaka, 9th in the world ‘ranking’ and fourth seed, qualified on Thursday for the United States Open final, after beating North American Jennifer Brady (28th).
The Japanese beat the American, for the first time in the semi-finals of a ‘Grand Slam’ tournament, in three sets: 7-6 (7-1), 3-6 and 6-3.
Osaka, who won the tournament in 2018 and qualified for the second time in three years, will face Saturday the winner of the game between American Serena Williams (8th) and Belarusian Victoria Azarenka (27th).
