Rui Pinto said that he does not consider himself a hacker or a martyr, but a “whistleblower” (whistleblower) and that he never acted for money. “I did everything for a greater good”, he guaranteed

Rui Pinto said this Friday, during the trial at the Central Criminal Court of Lisbon, on the Campus of Justice, that he is in a “strange situation”, “on the one hand as an accused, on the other as a protected witness”. He doesn’t consider himself a hacker or a martyr, but a “whistleblower” (whistleblower) and that he never acted for money. “I did everything for a greater good”, he guaranteed.

Rui Pinto only made a statement at the beginning of the trial, this Friday, without answering questions from the judges, and he may still do so until the end of the session. In the initial identification, the hacker said he was unemployed and that he had previously worked in the sale and sale of books. “I am here in a strange situation, on the one hand as an accused, on the other as a protected witness,” he said.

“I don’t consider myself a hacker or a martyr. I’m a whistleblower. My work as a whistleblower is over ”, added Rui Pinto, assuring that“ the revelations are a source of pride and not of shame ”.
