Experts are reviewing the current rules on the use of masks, taking into account the new WHO guidelines that advise the use of children from the age of six. There is also the possibility that it will be necessary to wear a mask on busy streets

The Directorate-General for Health (DGS) is studying the possibility of mandatory use of masks for children from six years old and for all people in public spaces, confirmed this Friday, in a press conference, the director-general of health.

This revision of the standard will always be proportional to the risk of different activities, according to Graça Freitas. “Going to a busy street in a city is different from walking the dog at 10 pm in a non-busy area. Therefore, we will have to have that common sense and sense of proportionality ”when it comes to revising the guidelines on the use of masks, continues the Director-General of Health.
